Hello!
I’m excited to share my journey with you as I prepare stand for election in June to represent you, as your Constable, in the States Assembly. This page is all about giving you a chance to get to know me, my work, and my vision for our community.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ve included plenty of photos capturing the work I’ve done - both in the Parish and beyond - over the past few years. Take a look, explore, and see what I’ve been up to!

Listening & Learning in the Community
I’m committed to listening and learning from the community I hope to serve. By being present at Parish Assemblies, local events, discussions and gatherings, I gain valuable insight into the issues, ideas and priorities of parishioners. This helps me understand where we are now, and how we can move forward together.

LENT LUNCHES
The first Lent lunch of 2026 - 28 February at St Saviour's Parish Church. Here's my contribution - Minty Pea Soup! The event was very well attended and all in aid of the church's organ fund.
The second Lent lunch was held on Tuesday 17 March and was hosted by St Michaels School which was also well attended.
The last Lent Lunch will be on Saturday 28 March - prepared by members of the congregation - please come along if you can - 12 noon - 2pm.
The lunches bring the parish together in warm and cheerful style. All the lunches offered a tempting variety of homemade soups followed by cheese and biscuits.

Parish Park Public Drop-in Session - 2 December 2025
I went to the Parish Hall to view the plans for the newly proposed Parish Park. It was interesting hearing parishioners’ thoughts and ideas, and listening to their thoughts as plans take shape. Whilst the park in general seemed well supported, the addition of a 70 seater cafe/restaurant wasn't so well received - with Le Quesne's and the Boundary just minutes away, parishioners thought the addition of a cafe was an unnecessary expense. The park plans were approved in principle but parishioners asked for a further Parish Assembly to see a breakdown of the proposed spending.

I attended the Poppy Appeal Coffee Morning wearing two hats – as a parish community volunteer and as the editor of the parish magazine. It was a lovely opportunity to speak with parishioners, listen to their experiences, and reflect together on the importance of remembrance, support and community connection.

I attended the Policy Centre Jersey breakfast discussion on Healthcare – Shift from Treatment to Prevention.
It was an insightful session, with Chris Edmond, Health Minister Deputy Tom Binet, and Dr Patricia Tumelty of Mind Jersey sharing thoughtful perspectives on how Jersey can move towards a more preventative, holistic and wellbeing-focused healthcare approach.
A valuable conversation about how we support our community’s health in the long term.

Member of the Parish Rates Committee
I became a Rates Assessor in January 2025 to gain a deeper understanding of the back office administration of the parish.
I considered the Rates Committee an excellent starting point, offering valuable insights into the processes of setting the parish rate, and although some may find the topic boring! I actually love the admin work :-)

The Parish Magazine of St Saviour
I joined the Editorial Team in September 2023 and, when the then editor Cara Billot Miller moved out of the parish, I became the Editor in March 2024.
I value my role as Editor as it allows me to connect with parishioners, highlight local achievements, and help foster a stronger sense of community. It is a practical way to lead through service and collaboration. I love interacting with the many schools in the parish and involving them in the writing of the magazine - especially the La Petite Cloche pages. Here's me on a visit to the Bee Field with Springfield Primary School, in the summer of 2024 - that's me at the back with the blue washing up gloves on!

will be going to print in early June and will be distributed late June.
We are holding back the print date by a few days in order to get some of the 2026 election results in for you - but most of the results for St Saviour will be in the Autumn edition.

Delivering unwanted bananas from the Co-Op to The Salvation Army
(as a volunteer for OLIO) 2021
I hosted a Sole Hope Shoe Party in 2020. We had detailed instructions to create shoe upper portions from recycled denim. The end product are shoes that are durable, protective, and will go directly to children in need in Uganda. Sole Hope, is an organization committed to fighting foot diseases in East Africa.
By educating communities, providing medical aid, creating jobs, and distributing shoes, they strive to eliminate the suffering caused by jiggers, a detrimental parasite, and to foster healthier communities.
I have been in the complementary/holistic health business for over forty years, both teaching in FE colleges, as a practising therapist and running my own business.
As such it was a fantastic opportunity to visit a Lavender farm in Provence - the lavender in this field was distilled into essential oil by the end of the day. I still use essential oils today for my own personal use and also in the bereavement counselling work I do.
Community Volunteer
Group
The Parish Community Volunteer Group was set up out of need during the lock down of 2020.
We are always looking for new parishioners to join us - especially car drivers. We offer lifts to and from hospital appointments, for those without transport, and we offer services as collecting prescriptions, and even shopping.

Rotary de la Manche
I am an active member of Rotary de la Manche, one of two Rotary Clubs in Jersey.
Rotary is a worldwide charity and very active here in Jersey. we help with the Island Walk, and have regular events raising money for charities
May 2025 - Rotarians receiving a briefing before marshalling for the annual Cancer Research “Race For Life” all over the island and abroad. (I'm the one with the pink bag!).
